I haven't yet checked out Doozla but heard good things about it. Looking forward to hearing your observations. A few years ago a Librarian and I tried out the OSX version of KidPix and we weren't really all that impressed. It's nothing like the Classic app the kids go ape over. Tux Paint, at least in my experience, was a good alternative. The creator of KidPix is a fascinating person. I've played with that but wouldn't recommend it for really little kids. It's more scientific but none the less very cool. Just don't put it into the same camp as Tux Paint or KidPix.
